Prague Blog Entry

We arrived in Prague on Tuesday, January 17th. On the first full day there, we toured the concentration camp Terezin, which was a haunting experience. This camp was the camp in which prisoners secretly rehearsed the Verdi Requiem, amongst performing many plays and musical performances.
On Friday the 20th, I visited the Instrument museum, which featured many historical instruments, including the piano that Mozart supposedly used to write. That same night, we went to the Czech Philharmonic, which featured one of the most interesting conductors so far (in my opinion). He was very involved with the music, moving a lot with it.
On Saturday the 21st, we went to see Dvorak's opera 'Kate and the Devil.' This was the piece in which I presented on; I couldn't find much information on it, so it was interesting to see it live. Later that night, we went out to the city, and saw the oldest mechanical clock, built in 1410. Since had snowed, the clock's roof was snow capped.
