When looking through my pictures to decide which ones to include in this blog, I realized that I did not have very many pictures from Vienna, because so many of the places I visited here did not allow photos. That did not make this place any less memorable though. We started off our time here with a group dinner that included some awesome live accordion playing.
The next day, we had a walking tour around the city where we went all over to see the different churches, statues, and interesting buildings that Vienna is home to. That night, we saw the Orchestra dell 'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, which was another incredible performance.
The day after that was a free day which I honestly spend a lot of which resting, because I had not taken much time at all to rest in any of the other places. However, even though I did spend some time chilling, I also got into the city a bit to look at all the cool shops! Vienna has a big shopping area in the middle of the city, so I had lots of fun looking at all the different stores.
Wednesday some friends and I started off the day by checking out the Catacombs, which sadly I couldn't take any pictures of, but was super interesting to see. After that we got a tour of the Schönbrunn Palace, which again, I couldn't take any pictures inside of, but it was filled with beautifully decorated rooms covered in paintings and different styles of decoration in every room! That night we saw the Vienna Symphony with mind-blowingly close seats. It was a completely different and amazing experience to see the concert from that close up.
The last day was certainly my favorite. We started the day by going to an art museum which I honestly could have spent the entire day at. Some of those paintings, I could have stared at for an hour if I didn't have to keep moving to see everything. They were really some of the most mind-blowing paintings I have ever seen. As a painter myself, I was definitely in awe my whole time there. After that, Sarah and I climbed all over 300 stairs of the south tower to get a look at that view of the city. It may have been a workout, but I think it was worth it. The last thing we did was saw the opera Don Giovanni which despite having basically no likable characters, turned out to be my favorite opera throughout the whole trip. It was so silly and there was so much crazy stuff happening throughout that I stayed entertained during the whole thing, despite how long it was.
Next and final stop, Salzburg!
