During the first say in Berlin we got a tour and then went to the Topography of Terror. The tour was very interesting, our tour guide Jesse was very knowledgeable about Berlin and it's history. It was cool to be at the places I've read about in history books. Like seeing the part of the Berlin wall that is still standing outside of the Topography of Terror. Later we had our group dinner and there was fun live music at the resuraunt.
On day 2 we started the day by going to the Pergamon museum.There was a statue of a bird at the front of the first exhibit, that I found to be very intriguing. The Market Gate of Miletus and Ishtar Gate were astounding. Seeing those up close was crazy. After that I went to the Neues museum with a part of our group. It had a lot of artifacts from ancient Egypt and the bust of Nefertiti. It was surprisingly intricate. Next we went to lunch, then saw St. Mary's church and the town hall. Later we went to an antique shop and then headed back to the hostel to get ready to go to Oceane. We got a little lost on the way to the Opera but made it just time. The Opera was nice, the lead singer was amazing.
During the last full day in Berlin we had a lot a free time. So I decided to spend the day with myself. I started the day by going to the humboldt forum to see there museums. The humboldt forum looks like the old city palace that use to be there, but is actually a new reconstruction of it. I loved the museum there. There was so many exhibits. They had full size boats and houses from the pacific islands. That was shocking to find. They also had interesting collection of North West coast art. After the museum I did some shopping. And then got some boba tea and lunch. Later that evening I went to Berlin Philharmonic with our group to see Mendelssohn's Elija. It was amazing.
