Blog Post

Hello Dr. Powell,
Here is my entry for the Berlin blog post-

We arrived in Berlin late Monday night after a delay (approx 2 hours late- the wings of the airplane were experiencing some malfunctions), and missed our dinner reservations. Our first day, Tuesday, was spent discussing the Holocaust- we took a tour around town, visiting Hitler's bunker, and finishing with the Topography of Terror museum, a museum documenting the Nazis and their rise to power.
Wednesday was spent at the Pergamon, an art museum. That night, we finished with Detlev's opera 'Oceane,' my favorit performance so far. About a troubled woman, the story felt a little ambiguous to me, and the music was incredibly atonal and haunting.
Thursday, we went to see Mendohlsson's oratorio 'Elijah' at the Berlin Philharminic, with Kiril Petrenko conducting. It was amazing to see the technical aspects and the high artistic standards of the Berlin Phil.

Thanks,
Henry
